The Art of Living
If this post is a little late I’m blaming having 9 dogs in the house. 9! My husband can’t believe we actually have more dogs than cats. That’s never happened in our twenty-five years together.

What I Learned The Day Of The Race
Training I did almost everything right. I trained for over 18 weeks, I ran farther than I’d ever run before, I ran practice races, I bought energy chews, Gatorade, new sneakers, new workout clothes, and created my playlist. I was ready to run my marathon. Sort of. There was one thing I didn’t do. I didn’t decide I was completing the 26.2 miles. I knew I had an out. I knew the course was a loop, and I had the opportunity to cross the finish line half way through. I even heard the words coming out of my mouth before the race. Well, I met some of the most down to earth, kind people through my car shopping experience. Much to my husband’s dismay the conversation often veered from the size of engines to the salesmen’s lives. What brought them to Southwest Florida, how long have they lived here, were they…

Believe In Yourself
That little voice inside that says you’re not good enough; you’ll never do it, it’s too difficult, you don’t deserve it, is fear. Plain and simple fear. Because what if you fail? What if trying and failing leaves you feeling weak? Embarrassed? Setting goals takes vulnerability, but it’s in that vulnerability that we grow. It’s about having the courage to fall, get back up, brush yourself off and say, “I’m going to try again.”
