My TV interview and pictures of PA

My TV interview and pictures of PA My stomach was doing flip-flops and even though I kept sipping water my cotton mouth could not be quenched. I. Was. Nervous! Luckily, there were very nice people talking to me while we waited for the show to begin. Right before it was my turn I paced the room hoping my words would make sense when I was in front of the camera. I’ve been known to ramble and speak in circles. Writing is so much easier. I can cross out, erase, and delete something if I don’t like it. You can’t do that when you speak. Once it’s out there–it’s out there! Scary. It all happened so fast! One minute I…

    Surround Yourself With Joy

Surround Yourself With Joy I have an extra bedroom that I call my writing room. It’s where I spend hours every morning writing posts for this blog, working on the sequel to MYSTIC, reading, answering emails and checking out Facebook and Pinterest. There’s a bookshelf filled with children’s books, pictures of my family, and furniture that belonged to my grandparents. Because I spend so much time in this room I’m particular about what surrounds me. When I look out the window I see our canal and the sunlight bouncing off the water. When I look at the roll-top desk I think of my grandmother and when I look at the walls I see…

    Delicious Fall Dessert

Delicious Fall Dessert I first saw this idea on Pinterest. Thank you, Key Ingredient! I used their recipe for the chocolate cake and was pleasantly surprised with the taste. Adding pudding and chocolate chips to a box mix really makes a difference. Wow! I also followed the icing recipe except I added the juice of several clementines. Why, because they were sitting on the counter and I wondered what if? It made me feel like a baking mad scientist adding a secret ingredient. Well, the powdered sugar masked the orange flavor but at least I knew it was in there… Whaahaahaa! Then I got even more creative and decided to add candy corn…

What is your body language saying?

What is your body language saying? This past week my husband had to travel to Philadelphia to speak in front of crowd. Now, he’s used to public speaking, it’s part of his job, but this time was different. This time he was a speaker alongside a competitor in the same business and the company that was hosting the conference billed it as a “match” between Eric and the other man. This made Eric a bit uncomfortable because even though my husband is extremely competitive he’s also a very nice guy who likes everyone–even his competitors. We were texting as Eric waited for his presentation to begin. I wished him luck and he told me he was chewing gum…

    Pumpkin Bread

PUMPKIN BREAD I’ve been on a mission to actually bake some of the awesome recipes I’m finding on Pinterest. If they’re a success I’m pinning them on my Pinterest Success board. This recipe is definitely going up there! In fact when someone at Eric’s work saw my message on Facebook that I was baking he told Eric he was excited because Eric usually brings my goodies into the office. Well, when Eric tasted the pumpkin bread he threatened to hide the second loaf so he wouldn’t have to share. I then threatened to put a message on Facebook letting his co-workers know he ate their bread. It wouldn’t have been pretty. He begrudgingly took the pumpkin loaf to work. As…
