Wheelchair Road Racing
This year is a year of reflection for me because Arielle will leave for college in 26 short weeks. Some days I feel nothing and can easily utter the words, “Yep, she’s going to Illinois for college.” (Denial) Other days the weight on my heart is so heavy it feels as though the words are smothered with sadness and won’t come out. Glee and the University of Illinois
Having teens is a very exciting time. I get to watch them discover their passions and try to decide which path they will follow after graduation. I play the role of tour guide and gentle counselor. While there is an underlying sadness because I know that soon our house will be too quiet, there is also a joy in seeing their eagerness to explore and experience life as young adults.
