Happy Holidays! The Inspiration Behind ELLE & BUDDY
ELLE & BUDDY will be out in March and I’m very fortunate to have a team of people working with me to help get ELLE & BUDDY into the hands of children. For years we’ve traveled with the racing wheelchair and I’ve watched kids and adults gaze at its bright colors, giant wheels, and sleek body. Muza and I have had a lot of fun creating ELLE & BUDDY in hopes of entertaining everyone and giving some information on the history of racing wheelchairs. Of course Muza has also added an extra exciting element to the story. Search for all the geckos and see how many you can find. She’s hid…

Buddy’s Story
Buddy’s Story The Shelter May/June 2012 I didn’t want another dog. I had two. Nahla an old cocker spaniel we rescued when she was three and Ollie. Ollie, our problem hound who loves our family and other animals but hates most humans. A knock on our door, heck even a bump in the kitchen sends Ollie into guard dog mode ready to attack anyone who dares enter our den. One day, I saw a picture on Facebook. Big…

Trust Buddy and I have been together for almost nine months. He follows me wherever I go and if I feel I need absolute solitude to write I must lock the door because otherwise he opens it right up with the rest the pack and usually a cat or two behind him. The difference in Buddy from June 29th 2012, when we first brought him home, until now is amazing. He trusts us. It took months before he would actually look into our eyes. He would always listen and was very well-behaved but we all felt something was missing. We didn’t know what it was until suddenly the connection was made.…

Buddy
I was trying to get a picture of Buddy with a Santa hat and failing miserably. Muza Ulasowski came to my rescue. Thank you, Muza and Photoshop! Buddy is one of the family. The difference between when we first brought him home from the shelter in July and now is amazing. He’s still Mr. Mellow but he looks us in the eye, responds to his name and gets very excited when Eric comes home from work. Eric will play with him. I jump on the furniture when Buddy wants to play for fear of getting knocked on my keister. Buddy’s a big boy! When I’m writing Buddy is at my side. If he wakes and…
