Our Family Vacation to Copenhagen
Tivoli Gardens Candy Store When the kids were little Christmas morning was magical. Their excitement and the look on their faces when they saw the presents were moments I wished I could bottle and keep forever. As they grew into young adults, the holiday happiness was still there, but it wasn’t the same as the early years. When we travel together overseas, I get to see those same excited faces I once saw Christmas morning. Expressions that show awe because they are experiencing a different culture. Everything is new. Okay, except for Burger King and Dunkin Donuts, everything is new.

5 Reasons To Visit Amelia Island
When I received the email from The Book Loft inviting me for a book signing I had to admit I had no idea where Amelia Island was. Although the name was fitting. Amelia is the protagonist in MYSTIC. I enjoyed meeting everyone and talking books.

Cabins with a jacuzzi are more my idea of roughing it. It had been over ten years since we…

Our Family Vacation to California Map from Smart-Traveler.Info We love to travel! Exploring new places has brought the four of us closer together as a family. We leave the comforts and routine of home and spend hours together talking, learning, shopping, eating, bickering (mainly me and Eric), and creating memories. Even the moments of high stress like the time I thought we were going to plummet off a mountain in Roses, Spain because Eric was driving too fast are memories that make us laugh. We we have a phrase we utter when things don’t always go as planned while on vacation “Yay! Family vacation!” we say sarcastically, but the truth is it’s the difficult moments…

Orlando Family Vacation
Now that my kids are teenagers I occasionally glimpse back to the past and ask myself what I did as a parent that I’m thankful for. I made a list…. here. Number 2. on the list is family vacations. We began when the kids were little taking short trips to Disney World and then as they got older we explored different states and then different countries. Each trip was an adventure. Each trip was a lesson in exploring and finding the joy in life. It was also a constant reminder for me of what was important. Not having a spotless house or working fifty plus hours a week. Seeing the smiles…
