Happiness Happiness is something we all want. Yet, I think it’s easy to forget that happiness is something we already have. It can’t be bought, although some try, it can’t be achieved at a later date, although some believe it can, and it isn’t something someone else is carrying and if we catch them suddenly it will be ours too.

Answer this question: I’ll be happy when…. It’s easy isn’t it? We’re programmed to put happiness somewhere in the future. If you’re a writer, maybe it’s: I’ll be happy when I have an agent. I’ll be happy when I’m published. For writers that already have those things the bar is raised even higher. I’ll be happy when I make the bestseller list or I’ll be happy when I earn more money than J.K. Rowling. Okay maybe not that high… When I first became a teacher I was motivated, happy, excited.
