    Banana Split Icebox Cake Success!

    Thank you to The Girl Who Ate Everything for helping show Arielle and me how to make a yummy icebox cake. In case you missed it here’s our icebox cake failure. We didn’t give up. In fact we made two successful icebox cakes. Team whipped cream and team Cool Whip. Arielle and I are team Cool Whip while Eric’s team whipped cream. Kai is team – not going to touch anything fattening. Totally missing out on icebox cake goodness. Something strange happens to boys when they enter high school.     Epic Fail Cake… the Sequel

    Ten months ago, I attempted to make a cake I had seen on the Martha Stewart website. It didn’t go so well. It begins innocently.I see something pretty and say to myself, I can do that. The problem is…  I really can’t. Epic Fall Fail Cake turned out to be one of my most popular posts and worst cakes – until now. The Very Beginning I’m addicted to a TV show on HBO called The Newsroom. Eric and I enjoy Aaron Sorkin’s writing and the acting on the show is brilliant. I’d love to be on the set and watch how the actors practice the rhythm of the dialogue. It’s quick and oh so much fun…

    Summertime Sangria

    It’s summer, and if you live in Florida, it’s HOT. Personally, I love the heat. And I love sitting on my lanai after the afternoon rain, sipping on sangria with a book in my hand. There’s no better way to remind myself that I live in paradise. Eric taught me how to make his famous sangria. Once again it worked out perfectly. He did the chopping and mixing and I took pictures. Teamwork is so much more fun than cooking alone. I was sampling an old batch of sangria while we worked. If the pictures are a little crooked… now you know why.
