When a Storm Hits
Sometimes a tornado appears, sweeps you up, whirls you around, and when your feet are finally back on the ground leaves you wondering what the hell just happened. Life. Life is what happens. Always.
The past two weeks have been filled with heartache, love, travel, friends, and hope. Oh, and workmen painting and repairing giving our living room a new look. Same space, new appearance, which is kind of like what happens when a tornado hits. Pieces must be put back together. Those which were destroyed leave room for new seeds to grow. If we are mindful, we’re stronger, smarter, and more beautiful than we were before the storm. Growth is optional. We can stay in the dark or reach for the light. I choose the light. Always.
“Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.” Khalil Gibran
“Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.” Helen Keller
