A Puppy Reunion
Sometimes an opportunity presents itself, and you know you have to act. December of 2015 I heard about a mama and her seven puppies who needed a foster home. Not having much experience with dogs made me think it would be easy to take them in. How difficult could it be? Ha-ha! I had a crash course in caring for pups. It was a lot of work! Thank goodness, I took on the challenge. Those pups have filled my life with love.

Goodbyes Are Never Easy
Thank you to everyone who adopts from shelters or rescue organizations! You truly are making a huge difference for animals and your community. I’ve spent the past two months getting an inside view of a shelter and the incredibly dedicated and caring people who work there. It’s opened my heart in ways I never imagined.

Ten Ways Puppies Show Love
I’ve been fostering 7 puppies and their momma for a month. It’s one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences I’ve ever undertaken. In my usual nonchalant way, I didn’t think twice about seven puppies. Two, three,… seven…what could be the difference? They’re puppies. Mmhmm. The difference is seven puddles, seven trips outside, inside, and up and down the stairs when it’s bedtime, and seven puppies exploring my yard while I run around like a character on Sesame Street counting 1,2,3,4,5,6,7! My Fitbit loves me! I’ve earned all kinds of medals. Ten thousand steps is a piece-of-cake. Having seven also means seven times the love. When they wake from their nap…

If this post is a little late I’m blaming having 9 dogs in the house. 9! My husband can’t believe we actually have more dogs than cats. That’s never happened in our twenty-five years together.
