Chocolate Covered Pretzels
What’s better than Norman Love Chocolates? Not these. But I can say they’re much easier to make and a close second. My Halloween chocolate covered pretzels were a hit with the high school crowd so I decided to experiment for Valentine’s Day. I was very pleased with the results. The chocolate covered peanut butter pretzels shown above were Eric’s favorite. Basically all you need are pretzels, chocolate, parchment paper, candy decorations and creativity. It’s really easy. Melt the chocolate in the microwave and spoon it over the pretzels. Then decorate. One box of Bakers Semi – Sweet chocolate will be more than enough for one bag of pretzel sticks. (About 24 sticks)…

Valentine’s Day Cupcakes With a Candy Heart Inside
Valentine’s Day cupcakes I made last year… A friend asked me over the holidays if I received her invitation to Pinterest. I told her I did but hadn’t had time to sit down and figure it out. The thought of one more thing to do was overwhelming. I still hadn’t mastered Twitter and between Facebook, this blog, and getting MYSTIC ready for another edit, I felt I had enough on my plate. Then one morning the mood hit and I decided to see what my friend was raving about. Oh my! I sat there glued to my computer for two hours creating boards, pinning recipes, and connecting with people near and…

Tofu Crescent Rolls Formerly Known as Chicken Crescent Rolls
[gmc_recipe 2114] I’m trying something new. Not my failed attempt at blogging with no words but a new way to post recipes. I realized that printing out my recipes could be challenging. Who has time to copy all the directions? So, Eric discovered this new plugin on WordPress and I’m giving it a try. Hope it works. Feel free to let me know if you like it or don’t like it. I’m not sure. It seems I don’t have control over what is capitalized and not capitalized. Italian breadcrumbs – not italian breadcrumbs. The Italian in me is a little bugged about that. Anyway, these tofu crescent rolls are delicious!

Those Incredible Cupcakes
I mentioned in the last post that I spent one evening experimenting with cupcakes. I found Bake it in a Cake and wanted to give one of her recipes a try and add a little creativity of my own. Arielle highly suggested I begin with the Watchamacallit candy bar in the brownie cupcake. It looked like a winner to me. Later that day while I was at the gym I happened to mention to someone that I was planning on making brownie candy bar cupcakes after my rigorous workout. He insisted I try Pay Day candy bars. Nothing quite like discussing chocolate peanut butter awesomeness while on the stairmaster. I…

Cupcake Experiment
My favorite holiday is coming – Valentine’s Day! I wanted to create a Valentine’s treat that was original and creative. A treat so good everyone would say “You’re the greatest cook ever! How did you think of that?” I like to dream. I enjoy making cupcakes more than eating them mostly because I don’t care for all the sugary frosting. Weird I know. But I started wondering if I wouldn’t appreciate cupcakes more if they had a treat inside. Like those little hearts that say, Be Mine, and Love u. Wouldn’t it be a great surprise to open up a cupcake and get a message? You could even have a candy that says, Marry…

BLT? Why not try a healthier SBLT?
This is one of my favorite sandwiches. It’s easy to make and keeps me full for hours. For everyone who loves blt’s this is a healthy alternative. If you click on the words in blue it will take you to the nutritional information of each item. All you need is a package of Smart Bacon. Some tomatoes. Yummy spinach. And avocado! I started with an avocado pit on my windowsill. Now look at it. Cook the Smart Bacon in a frying pan with a little oil or nonstick spray for three to five minutes. Flip it several times to make sure both sides cook thoroughly. The longer you cook it the crispier…
