Wisdom Wednesday: Love and Effort
Wisdom Wednesday: Love and Effort Love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is done well. Vincent Van Gogh Today I had the privilege of speaking, via the Internet, to Florida Virtual School students about MYSTIC. One of the students asked a very thoughtful question, “How do I find my passion?” I told them passion is doing something you love to do. For me, it’s writing. The books I create come from my love of storytelling. However, I think it’s important to also include the necessity of effort whether it’s a passion for sports, music, owning a business, sewing, painting, whatever it may…

Wisdom Wednesday: Energy
Wisdom Wednesday: Energy Being aware of the energy you add or take from interactions is a sophisticated technique that radically changes the outcomes of the conversations that fill your day. Seth Godin I like to surround myself with people who have high positive energy levels. They motivate me and intrigue me. My husband, Eric, is such a person. He walks into a room with his smile and slight bounce in his step and his energy is felt by everyone. My good friend Elena is exactly the same. They carry a light within that shines so bright you can’t help but smile and laugh when in their presence. What makes them…

Wisdom Wednesday: Music
Music is my life, it is a refection of what I go through. Lenny Kravitz It’s amazing how a song can immediately lift my spirit or take me back in time to when I spent mornings in front of the mirror with a curling iron and spray seeing just how big my hair could be. However, music has always been in the background of my life. I knew what I liked and didn’t like but never gave much thought to the art itself. Now, that my son, Kai, spends hours creating and playing his music I’m curious about the process of writing songs. Where do they come from? How does he know which notes to play? Raising a son…

He began yesterday in Los Angeles and will finish in New York. Check him out here on Good Morning America: Click on the picture to see the interview. Teachers this is a great opportunity to talk to your class about disabilities and the importance of determination and hard work. Hey, why not follow Ryan on his journey? Here’s the…

Wisdom Wednesday: Setting Goals
Wisdom Wednesday: Setting Goals Alice: But I just wanted to ask you which way I wanted to go. Cheshire Cat: Well that depends on where you want to get to. Alice: Oh, it really doesn’t matter. Cheshire Cat: Then it really doesn’t matter which way you go. I’ve always believed in setting goals. Most every inspirational book I read encourages doing so, however, sometimes the goal I set is so broad there are no specific details on how I’m going to reach my destination. It’s like saying I’m going to Illinois and simply getting in my car and driving without a GPS. I’d probably get there eventually but with my sense of direction it could take a…

Love is Universal
Love is Universal Happy Easter to everyone who celebrates Easter! May your day be filled with joy, family, friends and of course…chocolate! Love is within all of us. Buddhism Buddha: “Teach this simple truth to all: A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service and compassion are the things which renew humanity.” Christianity Bible: I John 4:7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Judaism Torah: Leviticus 19:13 But the stranger who dwells among you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; Islam Qur’an Muhsin…
