The ELLE & BUDDY Book Launch is tomorrow!

It’s here! It’s finally here! Tomorrow March 2nd is the ELLE & BUDDY  book launch! Join us over on the ELLE & BUDDY Facebook page for our virtual launch.

Aug. 3rd 2012 was the day (yes, I’ve kept the email) Muza told me she was excited to illustrate ELLE & BUDDY. Our collaboration and friendship had begun.

ELLE & BUDDY started out with the working title of SAYLOR & BUDDY, and then Muza suggested we name the character Elle after Arielle. While I thought it was a great idea Arielle’s brother Kai wanted to know when his book would be out. (Love you, son. Don’t worry. I’m working on it.) Then Muza surprised me with an illustration that looked very familiar!

Early mornings and late nights Muza and I emailed each other from two continents. In between discussing ELLE & BUDDY we shared stories of our lives.

We revised, revised, revised, and revised some more over the years. Then we received  news that Peter E. Randall Publisher would publish our book! We were overjoyed.

Muza and I had some people who helped us along our journey. I’d like to offer them a huge grateful, thank you and virtual hug for all of their wisdom. Clicking on their name will take you to their websites.

Emma D. Dryden – Thank you for your guidance. I’m excited to work together on my new novel and to join you in July at The Art and Craft of Children’s Book Writing workshop.

Beth Stillborn – Thank you for your copy editing genius. I’m sure you’ve already found several mistakes in this post. I’m still learning…

Emma Walton Hamilton – Thank you for your guidance with ELLE & BUDDY and for suggesting I create a timeline for the history of racing wheelchairs.

Joyce Stein – Thank you for our long talks about marketing and for all of your encouragement.

Rebecca Emberly – Thank you for helping me find the right path for ELLE & BUDDY.

Joanna Marple – Thank you for your wonderful review of ELLE & BUDDY.

Deidre Randall – Thank you for believing in ELLE & BUDDY and for all of your guidance.

Arielle Rausin – Thank you. Thank you for letting me tell your story, helping me with marketing, and being the greatest daughter in the world! Love you, Kiddo.

Kai Rausin – Thank you for being so patient while I write books with strong female protagonists and for being the greatest son in the world! Your story is coming. Love you too, Kiddo.

Eric Rausin – Thank you for putting up with me and my creative (squirrel!) brain. Thanks for believing in me and always encouraging me to follow my dreams even when doing so means I never cook, rarely clean, and spend hours with imaginary characters. You Rock!

Finally, to ALL my friends and family who have supported me first with MYSTIC and now with ELLE & BUDDY. From my heart, THANK YOU.

Here it is! The ELLE & BUDDY book trailer! Thank you, Arielle!
