Can you handle the truth?
Can you handle the truth/Find the fib was one of may favorite games to play with my students. I’d separate them into groups of five and ask each person to write two truths and one lie about themselves. Everyone in the group would have to guess the lie. We all learned a little more about each other and the game helped the quiet kids gather courage to speak.
Jamie Ayers is celebrating the release of her second book 18 Truths by hosting a Can you handle the truth blogfest!
Here’s how it’s played
- Read numbers 1-3 below.
- Decide which one is the fib.
- Tell me in the comment section which number you think is not the whole truth and nothing like the truth.
- Check out Jamie’s blog to guess her lie and enter her Rafflecopter giveaway! Prizes!
Ready? Find the Fib! I’m going waaay back to my days in LA.
- I managed an apartment building in Los Angeles for Arnold Schwarzenegger.
- Bruce Glover (James Bond-Diamonds Are Forever) was my acting teacher.
- I’m in Tom Petty’s Free Fallin music video.

Congratulations to Jamie Ayers! Her YA novel 18 Truths will be out January 28th!
And the answer is…
#3 I wasn’t in Tom Petty’s video. I watched it being filmed at the Westside Pavilion—the place where I had my first job upon arriving in L.A. I was 19! Eeek! I would have gladly rode down the escalator all day instead of folding clothes at The Gap.

This is a hard one. They are all quite unbelievable. You’ve had quite a life! I’m going to go with #1 as the lie. Wow.

Thank you. Los Angeles is quite an interesting place. Thank you for stopping by and taking a guess.

I’m going to say number 2 is the lie, but I love the song “Free Fallin”! 🙂

Me too! Now I really want to tell which one is the lie…I’ll wait until the 28th. Thank you for commenting.

These were all very impressive! My guess is that #1 is the lie.

Thanks for playing, Julie. #1? Hmmmm…
Rhonda Albom
Which ever two are true are pretty awesome. I am guessing #1 is the lie. What fun options, mine are no where near as exciting.

Thank you, Rhonda. I’ll reveal the answer tomorrow. 🙂

Those all sound pretty cool! I’ll guess #3.

You’re right!
Fanny Barnes Thornton
I’m guessing at #2, although it’s a difficult choice.
Did you get to see Arnie?
kdrausin
Funny! No, I didn’t get to meet him or Maria. His nephew lived in the building though–a very kind young man. Thanks for playing, Fanny.

So I’m right?!? Yay 🙂

These are hard… going to go with #1

I think it’s number 3.
