She Said, He Said: When Our Daughter Left For College
She Said When I was expecting our first child people told me that my life was about to change, I was going to feel a love like no other, and to sleep as much as I could before the baby arrived. I always listened, nodded, smiled, and agreed that yes my life was going to change. I had no clue how much.

Teaching Positive Self-Talk
A new She Said, He Said post is coming next week. Eric needed some time off. He told me writing was hard work. I said, “Welcome to my world.” He said, “I hate your world.” I laughed. What Do You Look For In A Leader?
Those that know me well know of my love for children. I enjoy being around them. Their honesty combined with their curiosity about the world brings me joy. Going from teacher to children’s book author made perfect sense for me. These beautiful young people understand more than most adults give them credit for and that’s why it upsets me when I see adults, especially those in leadership positions, setting bad examples for them. Perhaps they mistakenly believe that children aren’t watching. They are.

Battling the Ego
I’ve been reading a lot about ego and how it affects my life. My goal is to go throughout my day conscious, grateful, and open to new experiences, free from the harm my ego can cause. The more I live in the moment the more joy I feel.
