    Waiting

I’ve been waiting for a miracle or for lightning to strike, a moment when everything becomes clear and I know exactly which path I should take next. I’ve never known such freedom to choose. My life, schedule, responsibilities began at an early age and then slowly, like a train easing into a station my adventure came to an end. I feel as though I’m still wandering around the station waiting for the next train to appear. The problem is I don’t know what it looks like or where it’s headed. Somedays I stress. Make a decision! Other days I remind myself to be patient. I’m apprehensive because I want to make sure…

    Interview with Daniel Taddeo

I’m excited to announce a new monthly post called VOICES! Every month I will feature someone with an interesting story to tell. It will either be an interview, an essay, or video. The Power Of Persistence

    Searching For Self

Searching For Self The quiet voice inside whispered, go. My ego shouted, but you have a to-do list you must stick to. The whisper came again, go. To go would be the more difficult path. The uncomfortable one. The one that would leave me feeling vulnerable, especially if I stumbled over my words. The last thing I wanted to do was stand up, microphone in hand, in front of a board with an impromptu two-minute speech. Surely there would be other people to speak for me. The excuses kept popping up. I have work to do; I should run, wasn’t I going to make hummus? Then I remembered the Judge. Gavel in hand she…

    Left Out

Left Out She stood on the playground. Everyone a stranger. New Gloria Vanderbilt shirt, gold necklace, Nike’s powder blue trainers, she chose the outfit carefully hoping they’d see she was worth getting to know. Everyone had scattered playing in their groups. She stood there. Adults were easier to talk to. She watched. She was alone.
